UX Design 101: Prototyping rapidly — Evolving & communicating your ideas effectively
Session 04 — Key takeaways, lesson & application exercises.

Prototyping is a mindset as much as it is a technique — it can take on many forms of output and visual fidelity. Aside from being a generative act, it is also a communication tool — allowing designers to more efficiently articulate their ideas and facilitate discussions with significantly less ambiguity than verbal dialogue.
The ability to rapidly generate, then evolve ideas is a prerequisite for creating impactful human-centered interaction design. Our first ideas are rarely our best and when we limit our thinking during the design process it is typically a sign that we are designing for ourselves, not for an end user.
Prototyping rapidly empowers us with the open, iterative mindset necessary to evolve good ideas into great ones. Additionally, it allows us to kill bad ideas early, through more efficient and articulate communication with ourselves, our peers, and most importantly our customers.
