During last year, I’ve downloaded loads of plugins for Sketch in order to set up a Master file. Below you can find a list of my Top9 essential plugins for Sketch that is crucial on a daily basis. Here we go:

1. SketchDistributor

Sketch plugin that distributes selected objects vertically or horizontally with a specified spacing.

I use this plugin all the time. Especially using the Ctrl+Alt+A to distribute again using the last spacing used. It’s simple and it’s perfect.

2. Select Parent Artboards

This Sketch plugin selects the parent artboards of the current selection when you press ⌃⌘A.

I’ve tried in many ways to select all artboards at once and I couldn’t find a way to do it directly in Sketch. (if you guys know how to do this please let me know).

This is definitely the most useful plugin I have, especially if you’re working on a product with multiple pages, symbols, and artboards in general.

3. Runner

Runner helps you to get around Sketch quicker by giving you an intuitive interface to supercharge your daily workflow. Stop searching through your menu & start running commands directly from your keyboard.

This is basically the ultimate shortcut plugin you need to: run plugins and menu actions, goto pages, artboards, groups, and layers, insert symbols, create a symbol or shared style and apply a shared style.

4. Artboard Tools

This plugin contains five plugins within it, and to be honest, for me this is only worth it due to those three shortcuts:

  • Zoom Artboard to Fit ( cmd+4 )
This plugin always zooms out and centers the current artboard, even if you’ve selected a layer within the artboard.
  • Select Prev Artboard ( cmd+shift+[ )
  • Select Next Artboard ( cmd+shift+] )

5. Pixel Perfecter

Helps you find layers that have float (pixel imperfect) X, Y, width or height properties. It will help you keep your documents cleaner, and keep your design specs tight.

6. Sketch Focus

Easily add notes and tasks (items) to your Sketch documents to keep track of what you need to do to particular layers, artboards or pages.

The core of this plugin is to be able to make notes and link them to specific artboards and/or objects on pages. But I also use this plugin as a personal changelog plugin, where I can take note on specific items. For me, this is only useful if you upgrade to Pro, which costs US$12.09.

  • Add notes and tasks to your document
  • Link layers to items
  • Sort items
  • Import and export data

7. States of the Artboards

Create different states and switch between them easily. Just like layer comps for Sketch.

Great plugin to create hover and different states for the same object.

8. Sort Me

Sort artboards and layers by name

This is really useful, especially if you’re naming your artboards following a specific taxonomy.

9. AutoLayout

A Sketch Plugin that integrates seamlessly into Sketch and enables defining and viewing different iPhone/iPad sizes including Portrait/Landscape. As well as generate an overview of all screen sizes for all artboards at once.
