The Medium paywall has gone! 🎉
Over the last year, we’ve been publishing on the Prototypr Open platform to keep everything freely accessible to all. Here’s some of what you may have missed while we were away from Medium:

2020 Design Tools Survey

Issue 179, October 15

The designers toolkit during 2019, with Sketch being the most popular
The Designer’s Toolkit via UXTools.co

The Design Tools Survey: Back in 2019, the results showed that Sketch was the design tool of choice across 6 out of 9 categories. In 2020, unless you’ve been living under a rock (which you may have been this year), you might have noticed Figma’s insane growth, and the rise of Adobe XD. ‘Let’s see how a global pandemic has affected the way we work’!

The Design Tools Survey is a free yearly report run by Taylor Palmer at UX Tools. Fill it out to have your say.

Tools in Issue 179

This issue saw user testing tool, Maze launch for Adobe XD, an awesome AI-based color generator, and more:

Tools in Issue 178:

A new prototyping kit from Framer, a really cool keyboard simulator, another icon set, and more:

Those were just a few highlights from our last 3 issues. You can see the entire newsletter archive of 179 posts here, and a host of awesome stories we published over here.

With Medium becoming a more open platform, we’re excited to be sharing here again, but will also continue our work on the open web.

When closed, proprietary technology proliferates, innovation and competition are stifled. The web is no longer a level playing field — it’s a platform controlled by a select few. ~ Mozilla on the Open Web
