Design of Twitter’s 8$ monthly Subscription
Could the subscription be made more valuable?
Twitter’s 8$/month subscription isn’t something that tech-savvy folks around the world anticipated most people are unhappy with its introduction of it. Based on the communication leaks at Twitter, it also seems like a move that is made in rush. The decision was made to prove that Twitter’s product teams can move at a fast pace when the leadership team approaches the challenge from the right mindset. Elon Musk’s decision is also coming from a place where he wants to change the development and release culture at Twitter while also reducing the “$4 million losses daily”.
So from that perspective, Twitter’s 8$/month subscription isn’t a bad idea. But it is made in a rush and could have been thought through in a better way. People with a celebrity, sportsperson, comedian, or any well-known folks will have the funds to pay for the subscription if Twitter forces it on the system. Most of the users are going to be affected by it. The feature is going to affect a very small percentage of celebrities or known personalities who are on Twitter and pride themselves in maintaining their public profiles. But we should not create a blend with the verification process.
