3-min Sketch productivity hack: Alignment keyboard shortcuts
Updated Oct 10, 2018 to provide a plugin-free solution that works in Sketch 52
Investing in your productivity is an important strategy for getting time back. For people working with Sketch, I recommend using keyboard shortcuts and Sketch Runner.
In this post, I’ll show you how I made it super fast to align items in Sketch.
What you’ll need
- Computer with Sketch 52
- 3-5 minutes
Instructions
- Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts
- Select App Shortcuts from the list on the left
- Below the box on the right, click the + button
- Use the Application select menu to pick Sketch
- In the Menu Title field, paste one of the following
a. Arrange->Align->Top
b. Arrange->Align->Right
c. Arrange->Align->Bottom
d. Arrange->Align->Left
e. Arrange->Align->Horizontally
f. Arrange->Align->Vertically - In the Keyboard Shortcut field, use the key combinations I chose (or pick your own shortcut)
a. Shift+⌘+⬆ (Align Top)
a. Shift+⌘+➡ (Align Right)
a. Shift+⌘+⬇ (Align Bottom)
a. Shift+⌘+⬅ (Align Left)
a. Shift+⌘+, (Align Horizontally)
a. Shift+⌘+. (Align Vertically) - Test out your new productivity powers in a Sketch file
